Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5 NIV
Your Might
How mighty is Canada? Well, according to theconversation.com website: “In some ways Canada is already a superpower. Its economic output is the eighth largest in the world. The seven countries with larger economies have bigger populations than Canada. Even with a short growing season and relatively small area devoted to agriculture, Canada is the fifth largest exporter of agri-food and seafood products. But economic strength is only one measure of a global power. Another is having the resources that others need. Regardless of future economic, environmental and technological trends, the country will be an energy and natural resources superpower.

There are some verses in the Bible that we know very well. Deuteronomy 6:5 is one of those: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Anyone who has had a life-changing introduction to Jesus Christ by faith understands fully what is being asked here. We genuinely want to love God fully. We want our whole heart and soul completely focused on Him and filled with Him. But I wonder how often we consider what it means to love God with our whole strength. We often think of strength in terms of brute force. Here it means a complete commitment to loving God fully. We are called to put effort into loving God – taking the time to live for Him, walk with Him, spend time with Him. We are called to give everything we have in order to love God fully. Only then is He truly our Lord. Take time to love God with all your strength.
These have been words from the heart.
