Words from the Heart for Wednesday July 6th, 2016

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the  Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

God’s Plans For Us

In a foreign land far from home, God promises His people that their suffering is not wasted. Are you facing trials? Do you have difficulties? Ask the Lord to bear much fruit in your life.

Listen to Words from the Heart

Canada will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2017 and plans are already being made by government, business and organizations from coast to coast. One of the most beautiful is a newly designed tulip that looks like the Canadian flag. The tulip was developed in a partnership between the Canadian government and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. When it was unveiled in May, Ottawa MP David McGuinty said “It’s an honour to unveil the official Canada 150 tulip on behalf of the Government of Canada. Tulips represent springtime, rebirth and promises, which make them a powerful symbol in the lead-up to the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.” The tulip bulbs will be available for purchase this Fall at Home Hardware and Ottawa will showcase 30,000 of them next spring in celebration of Canada’s sesquicentennial.

Plan the work and work the plan. It is the statement of success for any project. It’s actually good advice for all of life. And for the follower of Jesus, there is the promise and the assurance that God is the one who in charge of all of this. He has a plan for our lives and we need to make sure that He is free to work His plan in our lives. God gave a wonderful promise to the prophet in Jeremiah 29:11: “””For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”” God knows us far better than we know ourselves and has a plan for our lives that will bring Him glory and bring us joy. That fact that He loves us enough to design a plan for our lives that just fits who we are assurance us of His care. To be outside of His will for us only leads to frustration and disappointment. So why would anyone want to get in the way of God working out His plan in us, through us and for us? But we all know people who go their own way, ignoring God’s plan and they are miserable. Why not yield to Jesus’ Lordship over your life and allow Him to work His plan out perfectly for you. He will bring blessing to your life and to those who He touches through you.
