Words from the Heart for Wednesday January 25th, 2017
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
What a wonderful promise the Lord has given us! What direction do you need from Him today? He is more than available to you. To be in His Presence is a place of joy. He delights to share our day with us and promises that we can live joyfully with Him forever. Share this good news with someone you meet today!
If you are planning on operating a water craft in Canada you need to know that since September 15, 2009, all persons operating a pleasure craft that is fitted with a motor require proof of operator competency, regardless of that person’s age, the size of the pleasure craft, or the size of the motor. The PCO Card is good for life. Boaters can obtain their card after attaining a mark of at least 75 percent on a Transport Canada accredited test. A PCO Card is NOT a “boat driver’s license” or “permit” but rather simply one form of “proof of competency”, meaning minimal knowledge level that, similar to a high school graduation diploma, the card cannot ordinarily be revoked, rescinded, cancelled or suspended. The regulation applies to sailboats and personal watercraft, not just to motorboats.
I read about a man how once gave a testimony by morosely saying “Before Jesus became my Saviour everyone called me Sad Sam. Now that I’ve come to know the Lord I’m filled with joy.” I thought to myself, “It’s too bad that your joyful heart hasn’t told your lips or face!” One of the great blessings of the Christian life is the joy that the Lord gives us. Joy is the natural outcome of being forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin, guilt and shame. But the experience is not just for the moment He comes into our lives. It goes on and on, and the normal Christian experience is that the more we learn of Him, the greater our spiritual pleasure and joy. King David speaks to this in Psalm 16:11: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” It begins when the Lord shows us the path of life. Death no longer holds any terror for those of us who have experienced the abundant life that Jesus provides. And as we set out on the path of life, we experience the fullness of joy that Jesus’ presence provides. He takes authority in our lives and offers us the pleasures of knowing Him, walking with Him, and being His child. Are you finding great joy in your relationship with Jesus? What spiritual pleasures has He provided for you today?
These have been words from the heart.
