Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts!

Psalm 148:1-2 (NKJV)

Praise Him

There are outbursts of praise found throughout the Psalms. Many of these centre on our amazing God as Creator. He is worthy of all praise. It’s always exciting to join in a large crowd to sing to the Lord. But, even when we are all by ourselves we are not alone in our worship. We can join with the unseen hosts of heaven to praise the Lord

Many of the world’s travel magazines chose Canada as the world’s top travel destination in 2017. National Geographic Travel named the Banff region a top natural area of the world. Lonely Planet named us their number one destination in the world and lavished us with praise. The folks at Travel+Leisure singled out Montreal as a great spot, citing celebrations for the city’s 375th birthday. It also cited Tofino B.C. as a great destination, noting how local cooks are foraging for wild food.

We have all had times when we have seen something that is so glorious it has stopped us in our tracks and brought on an uncontainable WOW! If that is the case with human beings in the presence God’s most glorious creation, can you imagine how natural praise must be for those who dwell constantly in the presence of the glorious Creator? It’s no wonder that the Psalmist writes these words in Psalm 148:1-2: “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts!” The Bible is filled with glimpses of Glory, and every time the angelic hosts are found praising God. We who live in this world can only imagine what it will be like to be in the blazing glory of Almighty God. We get a glimpse through the praise offered by those who have spent an eternity there. Each of us who have come into a relationship with the Lord God through faith in Jesus Christ have so many reasons to praise Him. Praise Him now, with the knowledge that one day our praise will be taken to a whole new level.

These have been words from the heart.
