Words from the Heart for Saturday September 16th, 2017

I walk in ways that are honest. I take paths that are right. I leave riches to those who love me. I give them more than they have room for.

Proverbs 8:20-21 (NIRV)

In Honest Ways

As we read this chapter in our Bibles we are hearing the voice of wisdom. Each verse shows us just how valuable wisdom can be in our lives. The benefits that wisdom offers bring many blessings to us. In fact, the Bible says we won’t have room enough to receive what can come through wisdom. Give a greater place to the Lord in the events of your life today!

To test the honesty of people in 16 major cities, Readers Digest left a wallet bearing a cellphone number, a family photo, a business card and $50, in parks, near shopping malls and on sidewalks. The most honest city they found was in Helsinki Finland where 11 of 12 wallets were returned intact. The least honest city was Lisbon Portugal where only one of the 12 wallets was returned. This information was on Reader’s Digest Canada’s website, but disappointingly no Canadian cities were included.

The life we have in our relationship with Jesus Christ is a blessing in so many ways. But one of the greatest blessings is knowing that God has a path for our life that is meant for our best. When we live according to His precepts and principles, we can be assured of freedom from guilt and shame. God’s gives a great promise in Proverbs 8:20-21: “I walk in ways that are honest. I take paths that are right. I leave riches to those who love me. I give them more than they have room for.” What a wonderful promise here. If we walk in the honesty of the paths God has laid out for our lives, we are assured that we will share in the riches of His kingdom. His riches are not those of this world that have no eternal value, but fill us with the spiritual riches that He describes here as “more than we have room for.” Are you experiencing all the riches that God has for you? Is your heart overflowing with the blessings of God? If not, get back on the path God has set for you.

These have been words from the heart.
