Words from the Heart for Saturday July 15th, 2017
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Psalm 90:2 (NKJV)
From Everlasting to Everlasting
Our God is eternal. He is also the Creator. He existed before even the world was created. Even though heaven and earth that He made will pass away, He will never cease being the eternal God. He is truly from everlasting to everlasting. Consider this: How will the truth of this Scripture change how you pray today?
While Canada is seldom referred to by the term Dominion anymore, it remains its legal title for the country. Until the 1950s, the term Dominion of Canada was commonly used to identify the country. As Canada acquired political authority and autonomy from the United Kingdom, the federal government began using simply Canada on state documents. While the Canada Act of 1982 does not use the term Dominion of Canada, the Canadian Constitution includes the preceding British North America Acts where the term is used. The Canada Act of 1982 does not state that Canada is no longer a Dominion, so the term is still officially the title. The United, Nations, the European Union and the United States consistently use Canada as the official name, as recently as 2008 the Government of Canada registered the Maple Leaf Tartan with the Scottish Tartan Authority under the name Dominion of Canada.
The world in which we live is so fleeting. Things change so quickly we can hardly keep up with it. What was important yesterday is forgotten today. What we thought we needed last week we find we aren’t the least bit interested in today. Politics and entertainment drive our culture, and in each case those who are powerful or popular this year are hardly remembered by next year. Our world can be rocked so easily. Is there anywhere we can look for stability and strength? The world has always been marked by change and challenges. Psalm 90:2 gives us the answer: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” The one constant in our world, and in our lives, is the God who is unchanging. He was God when He created the world, He is God now and He will be God for eternity. When we place our faith and trust in Him and live according to His precepts and His call upon our lives, He becomes the anchor in our lives as well that keeps us safe no matter what storms come our way. Is your life in turmoil at the moment? Put your trust in the God who created the world and revealed Himself through Jesus Christ. He will anchor your life as you reach out to Him in faith.
These have been words from the heart.
