Words from the Heart for Monday August 21st, 2017

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Psalm 150:6 (KJV)

Let Everything that Hath breath

People use their breath to speak a lot of different kind of words. Some words are harsh. Other words may be discouraging. We can make a decision to use our breath in a different way. We have the amazing gift of life and breath. Let us use it to praise the Lord who is more than worthy of our words. Look back over the Psalms and choose things to praise Him for today. That’s a great way to use your breath!

It seems that Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest couldn’t say enough nice things about Niagara Falls and Canada when they did their show, Live with Kelly and Ryan, from the Oakes Garden Theatre in Niagara Falls Ontario this past June. They praise that they heaped on both the Falls and the country was quite something. During a press conference following the taping of the second show, Kelly Ripa said, “What we needed here was another week. It’s just not enough to spend three days. You need more time. We have a great love of our Canadian audience and they really enjoy having us come do our remotes. We’ve taped all over Canada. We’ve never had a bad remote, we’ve never had a bad experience.” It was Ryan Seacrest’s first visit to Niagara Falls.

The Bible calls us to honour one another – that means we are called to thank those who have treated us well and to honour those to whom honour is due. If this is the case in human relationships, how much more is this true when it comes to our relationship with the living God? The Bible teaches us that even creation proclaims praise to its creator. Psalm 150:6 puts it this way: “Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” The call of God’s word is for every member of the animal kingdom to praise God. We don’t understand the calls made by those outside the human race, of course. And it is doubtful that any living creature outside of human beings have any sense of the wonder of creation and a desire to understand their creator. But in the beauty of the animal kingdom we see reason to praise the Lord. Whether it is in the majesty of a whale rising out of the ocean, or the breathtaking colours of a rain forest bird, the creative genius of the Lord God draws praise from those of us who have come into relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. Everything that has breath does praise God simply by their existence. If this is the case, then we who do understand that we are fearfully and wonderfully made should take time regularly to praise our Creator for who He is and all He has done.

These have been words from the heart.
