Words from the Heart for Monday April 16th, 2018
As long as the earth lasts there will always be a time to plant and a time to gather the crops. As long as the earth lasts, there will always be cold and heat. There will always be summer and winter, day and night.
Genesis 8:22 (NIRV)
As Long As the Earth Lasts
For those living after the flood, the Lord declares there will be seasons that are predictable and will come around every year. We might like one season more than another, but each season is necessary for the earth to bring forth food and harvest. The seasons are a gift from the Lord to us.
How long can a visitor to Canada stay legally in this country? That is really up to a border services officer at the port of entry in Canada. Most visitors are allowed a six-month stay from the day they enter Canada. If the officer authorizes a stay of less than six months, they will indicate in your passport the date by which you must leave Canada. You can apply for an extension of at least 30 days.
Depending on where you live in Canada, spring is already well underway or it is bringing the first bit of hope after a long winter. One thing we can be sure of – the seasons come and go with uninterrupted regularity. That is how God designed it, and until Jesus returns and establishes His Kingdom, the seasons will continue. The Bible speaks to this in Genesis 8:22: ““As long as the earth lasts there will always be a time to plant and a time to gather the crops. As long as the earth lasts, there will always be cold and heat. There will always be summer and winter, day and night.” While we Canadians love to talk about the weather, it never makes the news that the sun rose in the east this morning or that summer is warmer than winter. That is just how days and seasons work. In spite of the fact that our world is not as the Lord created it since sin has taken its toll on all of creation, God still ensures that the seasons will continue to come and go until Jesus returns and establishes the new heaven and the new earth.
These have been words from the heart.
