Words from the Heart for Friday March 9th, 2018

Then the end will come after Christ destroys all rule, authority and power. Then he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father. Christ must rule until he has put all his enemies under his control.

I Corinthians 15:24-25 (NIRV)

Then the End Will Come

The finished work of the cross and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus is part of an eternal and glorious plan of God. Yes, He has made a way for us to be saved. He also has a plan to ultimately defeat His enemies. He truly does have all authority. He has all power. He will reign forever and ever.

Those who have predicted the end of the use of cash in Canada are a bit premature. Despite an increase in the use of debit cards, the Bank of Canada calculates that Canadians still use cash to process more than half of all transactions. The bank crunched the numbers for 2015 and found that across all types of merchants, 51 per cent of all transactions were conducted in cash. Debit was used for 31 percent of transactions and credit cards for 19 percent.

Even though the world at times seems out of control, it is not. God has a plan for this world, and in spite of the atrocities brought about by sinful human beings, He will see that His plan is brought to a successful conclusion. There will come an end to the wars and natural disasters that affect entire nations and continents, and he will reconcile individuals and families. There is coming a day of peace under the reign of the God who created this world and loves it still. 1 Corinthians 15:24-25 says “Then the end will come after Christ destroys all rule, authority and power. Then he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father. Christ must rule until he has put all his enemies under his control.” While we only see what is happening in the physical world around us, there is a spiritual world in which a battle of cosmic proportions is taking place. One day Jesus will destroy the powers of darkness in the spiritual realm – the rule, authority and power – and when they have been destroyed, peace will come to our world. Victory is certain.
