Words from the Heart for Friday April 27th, 2018
Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, and he established them for ever and ever— he issued a decree that will never pass away.
Psalm 148:4-6 (NIV)
Created By Command
What an overwhelming thought that the entire universe was created “at His command!” The universe is a miracle. His handiwork is seen throughout creation even to the highest heavens. All the wonder and awe of how the universe operates gives praise to our majestic God.
Canada has created a cheese that has made the French terribly unhappy. French pride in their camembert has suffered a blow after a Canadian version of the soft, creamy delicacy, native to Normandy, was voted the world’s best. A cheese made in Quebec came first in the camembert category at the World Championship Cheese Contest, held in Wisconsin. L’Extra, produced in Saint-Hyacinthe, east of Montreal, beat the top French camembert, Isigny Sainte-Mere, which won the title in 2010 but was placed only 12th this year.
The Bible teaches us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. The more we come to understand the intricacies of the human body, the more it becomes a greater leap of faith to believe it all came about by chance. Some of the greatest scientific minds are coming to terms with what has come to be known as intelligent design. They understand that the odds of all that we see in the micro and the macro are so intricate and immense that there is little chance that all of this happened by accident. The Psalmist understood this to be true and writes this in Psalm 148:4-6: “Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, and he established them for ever and ever— he issued a decree that will never pass away.” As we look at the magnificence of the world in which we live, look beyond what your eyes can see and focus on the One who is behind all of this, and by whom it all exists. And then praise Him!
These have been words from the heart.
