Cried to the Lord

It’s what babies do. It’s how they express themselves. And it appears that babies in Canada excel at it. According to new research from the U.K., babies in Canada, Britain, Italy and the Netherlands cry more than babies in other countries. On average, babies cry for about two hours a day in the first two weeks. Crying peaked at around two hours and 15 minutes per day at six weeks. On average, Canadian babies cried 30 minutes more than babies from other countries.

I was speaking to someone who had given their life to Jesus many years before. She was being reminded of the day she gave her life to Jesus. She said she had never cried so much as she did that day, reaching out to the Lord to forgive her and welcome her into His forever family. In that testimony she was speaking into the two meanings in English for the word “cry.” She cried out to the Lord and she literally cried tears of joy as the Lord gave her a brand new heart. In the early verses of Psalm 107, David has been speaking about the goodness of God, and about those who have been wandering in spiritual desert wastelands, hungering and thirsting for God. He goes on to say, in Psalm 107:6: “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.” No matter what you are going through today, no matter what that desert wilderness is, when you cry out to the Lord, you will find that He is right there, ready to come alongside to deliver. Cry out to Him today.
