So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

According to release from the federal government this past June 5, “There are approximately 2,000 CAF members who are currently deployed on nearly 20 different operations across Canada and around the world, including providing humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians in Poland who have been displaced by Russia’s illegal invasion of their country. In total there are approximately 1,400 CAF members serving on Operation REASSURANCE as part of our multiyear commitment to support the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s ongoing assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe in response to Russian aggression in the region.

Almost immediately after sin entered into the world and our relationship with our Creator was severed, God began to reveal His nature to the human race. He did so through His actions and by sharing with them His names. Early on, as the people were wandering through the wilderness, He promised them that He would provide for their needs, and they could count on that because His name is Yahweh Yireh, or Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. It is His nature to provide for His people – He can do no other. So what we read in Matthew 6:31-33 shouldn’t surprise us: “So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” God loves you. That should come as no surprise to you. Because He loves you, you can count on His providing for your needs. Take time today to ask Him to do so.
These have been words from the heart.
