Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.

Psalm 40:5 NIV

God Has Good Planned for You

Raging wildfires and smoky skies across much of Canada last summer put a damper on travel, resulting in cancelled plans and closed businesses. According to Madison Simmons with the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, “We have had a few conversations with our members and we’re already seeing domestic and international visitors cancelling trips.”

The Ontario tourism group released a study in May suggesting leisure travel in the province was set to grow after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and cost-of-living crisis.

We love to make plans for our future. We plan for our education, our careers, our vacations. They often work out, but not always. There is a reason we buy cancelation insurance for trips we book – all sorts of things can pop up that force us to cancel our plans. The only One whose plans never fail is the One who planned the entire universe. When God makes plans, nothing in this world or eternity can thwart those plans. The Psalmist understood this and wrote in Psalm 40:5: “Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” You are not a product of chance and your life is not without purpose. In fact, long before you were born, your Creator had developed a plan for your life to bring you great joy and satisfaction. He calls you to Himself as Redeemer and then works in your life to bring about His loving plan. You can trust Him in this. Walk in God’s plan today.

These have been words from the heart.
