For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.

Above All Gods

The National Flag of Canada always takes precedence over all other national flags when flown on Canadian soil. The King’s Personal Canadian Flag, as well as the Personal Canadian Flags of members of the Royal Family and the personal flags of the governor general and lieutenant governors (in their province of jurisdiction) when assuming the duties of the representative of the King, all take precedence over the National Flag of Canada on the buildings where these dignitaries are in residence or attending a function.

Priorities are important in our lives. Each and every day we set priorities – the most important things rise to the top of our to do lists, and we take care of them right away. Other things take second place and we put them off until later. There is wisdom in taking stock, from time to time, of what is most important in our lives. We can determine this by what we spend our time and resources on. In the old days, it was said that your cheque book is a pretty good indicator of your priorities – these days it is more likely your credit or debit card statement. In a sense, whatever rises to the top of your priorities, for time or finances, is your god. There is only one true God, and as we are followers of Jesus, He must be our priority. 1 Chronicles 16:25 says, “For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.” Our priority must always be to put the Lord God before everything else in our lives. Once we meet Him through faith in Jesus Christ, He alone deserves to be our priority. Is He?
