Words from the Heart for Wednesday May 26th, 2021

Don’t you know who made everything? Haven’t you heard about him? The Lord is the God who lives forever. He created everything on earth. He won’t become worn out or get tired. No one will ever know how great his understanding is.

Isaiah 40:28 (NIrV)

Who Made Everything

Next time you cut your finger and put on a ‘band aid’, thank a Canadian. Back in the 1920’s, Earle Dickson was working for the Johnson and Johnson company. His wife was accident prone so he designed a piece of tape with some gauze in the middle. His bosses at Johnson and Johnson loved the idea, and began to mass produce the product. Today there are many variations of these bandages, but we generically call them by their brand name Band Aid.

Where would we be today without scientists. From the moment that COVID-19 raised its ugly head, scientists got to work on finding a vaccination to battle the disease. As difficult a time as this is, it would be far worse without the work of scientists. But they don’t know everything. There are still a lot of questions, particularly surrounding such things as how our world came into being. The Bible deals with these matters clearly and often. Isaiah 40:28 asks “Don’t you know who made everything? Haven’t you heard about him? The Lord is the God who lives forever. He created everything on earth. He won’t become worn out or get tired. No one will ever know how great his understanding is.” Nothing can come from nothing. Ultimately there has to be a beginning to all the beauty we see around us in our world. It took a mastermind to create this world, from the macro of the infinity of space and the majestic mountains, to the incredible micro of our DNA and the individual cell. It also means that you are not a product of chance. Haven’t you heard? You were lovingly created by God. You are special.

These have been words from the heart.
