“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Mark 11:25 (NIV)
Forgive
When it comes to consumer debt, being in over your head can be extremely stressful. When you are struggling to make minimum payments, missing payments or dodging calls from collectors, you need help. The sooner you get on top of your debt, the better. Once the money you owe becomes overwhelming, it can be challenging to earn enough to make minimum payments. While we don’t exactly have debt forgiveness, Canada does have non-profit credit counselling services and Licensed Insolvency Trustees in every province and territory.

Too often when we pray, we list all the things we want the Lord to do for us, say amen and then walk away. Prayer, however, is a dialogue, and we need to take time to hear from the Lord when we pray. God often brings thoughts to our minds and conviction to our hearts. This is the point that Jesus teaches in Mark 11:25: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” God often prompts us during our prayer times. If He prompts you to go and get things right with someone, do it. If He has prompted your heart, He will be working in the heart of the person He is sending you to. We have experienced the forgiveness of Jesus Christ and we are called by Him to offer the same forgiveness to others. We don’t have a choice – Jesus commands us to forgive. He knows, that doing so, we will be set free from any bitterness that poisons the soul. And when we do, we will experience God’s forgiveness as well. So, forgive.
These have been words from the heart.
