For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For example, if you find yourself in Toronto, full time students attending a post-secondary institution receive free General Admission at the Royal Ontario Museum every Tuesday. Across the country in Edmonton, the Art Gallery of Alberta offers free admission to minors under the age of 18 and Alberta students with valid identification. In a world that has become so expensive so quickly, we are grateful for anything free. Who turns down the free samples at the supermarket, for example? It may be true in this world that there is no such thing as a free lunch, but that doesn’t stop us from seeing if we can find one. The principles of the Kingdom of God always turn the principles of this world on their heads. Listen to what the apostle Paul writes in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The world has a steep price on sin – sin brings about a death sentence. God’s kingdom principle is just the opposite. Eternal life is free. What a contrast. You pay for sin with your life. You receive life through Jesus’ death on the cross. God offers it as a free gift. I don’t understand why more people don’t gratefully accept God’s generous offer. He offers it in love, and all we have to do is turn from our sin, and in faith receive the gift of eternal life. It’s the best gift ever.

These have been words from the heart.
