I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

Exalt

The website CanadianAffair.com exalts Canada by saying, “Canada has previously topped the table when it comes to being the friendliest nation in the world and even today the nation is regarded as one of the most pleasant places to visit. Canadians from large cosmopolitan cities to smaller towns are proud of Canada and are happy to show you around, advise you on great places to eat or help you when you get lost. It is this laid-back attitude on top of the range of outdoor activities and events that make it the perfect travel destination for families with children.

The follower of Jesus lives a life of praise. The closer we draw to Him, the more aware we become of every blessing that He pours into our lives. You have probably noticed this – the deeper your love for Jesus, the more you take notice of every blessing, every beautiful part of His creation, every act of love and kindness offered by someone. The result of all of this is that we more freely and more often offer praise to the One who loves us so much that He offered His own life to redeem us from sin and guilt. King David certainly experienced this and wrote these words in Psalm 145:1: “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.” David had a unique-for-his-time sense of eternity. He understood that God had an eternal purpose and plan for His people – and for him as an individual. We who have been forgiven and set free from our sin will also exalt the Lord Jesus forever. We too will praise Him in eternity. Why not do so today?

These have been words from the heart.
