Words from the Heart for Wednesday July 28th, 2021
Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right.
Proverbs 20:11 (NLT)
The Way They Act
The Canadian Children’s Museum is located inside the Canadian Museum of History, in Gatineau, Quebec. The CCM is among the most popular museums in the country, attracting about half a million visitors each year. It is also Canada’s largest exhibition centre designed specifically for children up to age 14 and their adult companions. The museum describes its permanent exhibition, The Great Adventure, as an interactive, intercultural journey of discovery. With a museum-issued passport and a good imagination, visitors can travel to Nigeria, Japan, India, Mexico, Indonesia and other international destinations.
Jesus took a child in front of His disciples and told them that they had to become like this child in order to enter His kingdom. He was speaking about their simple faith, of course. But there is more about children that can be used as an example to all followers of Jesus. Listen to what King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 20:11: “Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right.” All of us are born in sin. We see the fallen, selfish human nature in the youngest child, as he or she demands their own way. What Solomon noticed, however, was that even the youngest child can live their life in such a way that the Lord is honoured. I have seen children who are growing up in a home that is far from godly living a life that represents Jesus beautifully. It doesn’t matter what our past or our present is. We are called to live our lives like Jesus lived His. If little children are able to do that, then His Spirit will provide all we need as well.
These have been words from the heart.
