If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5 NIV
Generous Wisdom
Over the years, Canadians have offered some great wisdom. Pierre Trudeau once said that Canada is not a country for the cold of heart or cold of feet. A Canadian proverb says “Once the last tree is cut and the last river poisoned, you will find you cannot eat your money.” Another Canadian proverb says, “You can’t catch a skunk with a mouse.” And lastly, “Patience is a tree whose root is bitter, but its fruit is very sweet.” There is generous wisdom in Canada.

Every single one of us has made a dumb decision at some time or another. Even when we carefully consider all our options and gather all the information we can before making a decision, things can turn out poorly. Only God is wise enough to always make the right decision. The Bible gives us a wonderful promise when it comes to the wisdom we need to live a life that makes sense and leads to blessing. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” The wise God who created you is willing to provide all the wisdom you need for any decision, and he does it in spite of our own lack of wisdom – God gives His wisdom to all who ask, without fault. It is never too late to ask the Lord for His wisdom. You will find it in His Word, the Bible, which is filled with truth, and sound advice. You will find it as the Holy Spirit gently nudges you, or opens doors of opportunity. Be vigilant in seeking God’s generous wisdom. I’m Bob Beasley and these have been words from the heart.
