Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Psalm 107:8-9 NIV
It seems that without fail, Canadian destinations are awarded top spot for tourism in North America. In 2023, Vancouver took the top spot for North America’s leading cruise port and sports tourism destination. Niagara Falls was also given the award for North America’s leading tourist attraction, despite other rankings naming it one of the biggest tourist traps in the world. On a bit of a side issue, speaking of tourism, last year Air Canada nabbed the award for North America’s leading airline.
If you’ve been in love with someone for a very long time, there have undoubtedly been times when you have let down the one you love. Being human, even the most faithful of us are far from perfect in our ability to always live out the love we have for another. In our weariness, or our selfishness or our pride, we fail. What a contrast to the love of God. He is by nature faithful, and He never has a bad day. So King David is able to write, in Psalm 107:8-9: “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” God loves us deeply and consistently. He expresses that love in every good and perfect gift that He sends our way. The epitome of this is the gift of Jesus, and the gift of eternal life that He has provided. You never need to wonder if God loves you – He does, consistently and faithfully. Never doubt this, no matter how challenging life gets. It is in the assurance of God’s love for you that you will overcome whatever life sends your way.
These have been words from the heart.
