However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him.

Prepared

At the beginning of the 20th century, prospectors were already preparing Canada for what would prove to be one of the greatest mining countries in the world. In a report from 1921, we read, “We find quartz along the eastern coast of Nova Scotia, a small patch in the Beauce County of Quebec, a large tract of mainly quartz in the Porcupine District of Northern Ontario, some patches between Lake Superior and Lake Winnipeg and some traces of alluvial gold in the Saskatchewan River.”

I grew up in the Scouting movement and most people are aware that their motto is “Be Prepared.” We were taught to be prepared no matter what we faced, both in the wilderness and in a more urban setting. Over the years I have used, more than once, things I learned in over a dozen years in the Scouting movement. Human beings are wise to be prepared for any eventuality – the pandemic is a classic example. The only One who is always prepared, and for whom there are no surprises, is the Lord God who created and governs all things and who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us “However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ – the things God has prepared for those who love him.” God has been preparing for your life before you were born. He knew that you would be a follower of Jesus and He has a perfect plan for your life to bless you and bring glory to His name. Ask the Lord Jesus to keep you in the sweet spot of the centre of His will for you.

These have been words from the heart.
