Words from the Heart for Wednesday August 28th, 2019

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NIV)

If your friend or family member lives outside of Canada and wants to visit you here in Canada, they must apply for a visa in the country in which they live and hold citizenship. You can help your friend or family member by writing a letter of invitation, explaining how you will help the person. For example, you may offer to pay for plane tickets or accommodation. It may help them obtain a visa.

The human heart longs to understand the things of eternity. People look everywhere to try to discover this – and there is no shortage of places to look. Human beings have created all sorts of spirituality to try to get in touch with something greater than themselves. But all will leave the seeker empty, except one. Listen to what Jeremiah 33:2-3: “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’” God wants us to know who He is. He wants to know that in midst of a myriad of gods and spiritual options, He is the unique Creator of the world. There is no other god or spiritual guru who can claim to be the Creator. This is the One true God who is speaking. And He invites us to Himself. Don’t ever take this for granted. It is one of the greatest mysteries and by far the greatest offer ever given to a human being. God, the Creator, is inviting you to Himself. And when you call to Him, He will respond, and will give your heart the answers for which it is searching.

These have been words from the heart.
