“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longe rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

Rejoice over You

According to the Tripadvisor blog, “Visitors to Canada won’t want to miss a trip to the beautiful and stylish ski resort of Mont-Tremblant, which has been delighting skiers since 1939. Hit the slopes on your skis or snowboard, or even hop on a dog sled. The picturesque pedestrian village is lined with shops, bars and restaurants to unwind in. One tourist said “This is a great spot in any season for family or romantic getaway. If you enjoy winter sports, they have great skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.”

God likes you. We understand that God loves us – He is love, after all. He has to love us – it’s His nature to love. He expressed the depth of that love for us by sending Jesus to die on the cross in order to bear the punishment that our sins deserve. What amazing love that is. But God also likes you. In the Hebrew Scriptures, we read about God taking delight in His people. Since Jesus came, all who put their faith and trust in Him have become His children. Listen to what Zephaniah 3:17 says about how God feels about us: “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” The moment you repented and received Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord, you were saved. The Mighty One still saves. And He takes great delight in you. I like the idea of God being delighted in me. I’m sure you do too. Not only that, God sings over you. God sings – because of you!
