And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Acts 16:31 (KJV)

You Shall be Saved

Many, many people have used this verse as a powerful declaration in praying for their families. The Lord makes a promise to us that when we accept the Lord as our Saviour, He will also begin to draw our loved ones to Himself. Ask the Lord for fresh faith to claim this promise for those in your family who have not yet made Him their choice. He is at work in their lives.

A nine-year-old boy is being called a hero for pulling another youngster away from the path of an oncoming car. This past June, Tony Leong, a student at Douglas Road Elementary in Burnaby, B.C., was on a routine walk home from school when he noticed a kindergarten student in the path of a car making a sudden turn into a gas station. Young Tony grabbed the jacket of the boy, pulled him back and saved his life. He received a bravery award from the RCMP.

We all love to get gifts. The best gifts are memorable and we cherish them. We never have to wonder if we own that gift. We possess it and know that it is now ours. At the heart of the Christian faith is the assurance that we have received the gift of eternal life provided by Jesus’ death on the cross. It is a gift, and God doesn’t want you wondering if you have received that gift. Acts 16:31 says, “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Do you notice how certain this is? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you SHALL be saved. When you put your faith and trust in Jesus, you WILL be saved. You don’t have to wonder if you are, or hope that you are. You just are. Jesus has done everything necessary for you to receive that gift. You just have to reach out and by faith take it into your heart and life. Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ? If so, you are saved!
