Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.
Psalm 85:11-13 (NIV)

Christians are called to recognize that all we have, including the world in which we live, is a gift from the Creator God. The Bible teaches us that every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights. Because of the way He created it, with its times and seasons, we can enjoy the fruit of our labours. The Psalmist understood this and writes in Psalm 85:11-13: “Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.” It won’t be long now when the farmer behind our home will start to plant the crops for this year. He will work hard at it, and soon the corn or soybeans will appear and then flourish. He works hard, but ultimately it is the Lord who gives the harvest. This is true when it comes to the harvest of food, and of righteousness. You may not be a farmer, but you are called to plant the seed of righteousness. God will bring a harvest.
These have been words from the heart.
