…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31 NIV

Soar

Flyover Canada is a flight-simulated journey across Canada located in Canada Place downtown Vancouver. According to the vancouverscape.com website “The film is gorgeous, filled with scenery from Newfoundland to BC. Displayed on a custom-built 20-metre half-spherical screen, you feel completely immersed in the experience. It’s a 4D show, that’s gentle enough for small kids, who will undoubtedly be awestruck while watching the film.” It took over two years to complete, employing a creative team headed by ex-Disney Imagineer Rick Rothschild. This up-close-and-personal view of Canada is the first in a series of films.

There is something mesmerizing about watching a hawk or eagle in flight. As they catch the wind, and just soar on the currents, they are carried along with ease. It is said that they use very little energy in flying. The Bible uses this as an example of how a follower of Jesus ought to experience life. Isaiah 40:31 puts it this way: “…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” What a great promise from God’s word. It’s no wonder this is such a well-known verse. Life can be hard, and it so often drags us down and exhausts us. But that isn’t the way the Lord means it to be for those who follow Him through faith in Jesus Christ. He promises to supply all we need to thrive. His unlimited resources are ours, as we keep trusting Him for His provision and rest. Whatever you are facing today, reach out to your Creator, who will give you all you need to soar.

These have been words from the heart.
