I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

That You May Know

Those who want to become Canadian citizens have to pass a Canadian citizenship test. It tests their knowledge of Canadian history, geography, economy, government, laws and symbols. There is an official citizenship study guide called Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibility of Citizenship. It is available online and even if you were born here in Canada, it would be interesting to take the test questions to see how much you know about this vast and beautiful country we call home.

Far too many Christians don’t take advantage of all the spiritual strength and provision that is available to all who love the Lord Jesus, who have turned their back on sin and have trusted Christ as Saviour and Lord. There is nothing that we need to walk in victory over the world that is not available to us. All that heaven has to offer is ours in Christ. The early apostles wanted the believers in their day to understand this, and so Paul wrote this to believers in Ephesus in Ephesians 1:18-21: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” This is for you!

These have been words from the heart.
