Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Listen to Words from the Heart

Canada became the first country in the world to incorporate the obligations of the Rome Statute into its national laws when it adopted the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act on June 24, 2000. Canada was then able to ratify the Rome Statute on July 9, 2000. In order to ratify the Rome Statute, Canada’s Parliament enacted legislation to implement its obligations under the Rome Statute to ensure that Canada could fully cooperate with International Criminal Court proceedings. This meant also amending some existing Canadian laws.

The Christian life is one of faith from start to finish. We become a follower of Jesus through faith, we live our lives daily in Him through faith, and until we stand in His glorious presence and see Him face to face, we will walk and thrive through faith. The more we put our trust in Him, the more we learn that we can trust Him. So, we easily understand Solomon’s command in Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” The more we grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, the more we desire to trust in Him and the less we lean on our own wisdom. It too often has failed us – He never does. But Solomon goes on to say something else, in verse 6: “in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This is the ultimate secret to victorious Christian living and its one of the most difficult. We are called daily to submit all we are and all we do to the Lordship of Jesus in our lives. Only then will we walk in victory.

These have been words from the heart.
