Holding It All Together

Back in 2016, Canada’s Governor General David Johnston was asked about the role of the monarchy in modern Canada. He replied, “Canada’s remarkable diversity works because some things, like the monarchy, hold us together. There’s a stability that comes from that system of government where you have parliamentary democracy but you have a representative – a head of state, in our case the Queen, I’m her representative in Canada, whose responsibility is ensuring that rule of law and stability of law persists and consists.”

Scientists are just beginning to understand that there is something “mysterious” that seems to be keeping the vast universe in sync. To quote Treehugger.com website, “Scientists have been gathering a growing well of evidence that our universe may be connected via a vast array of large-scale ‘structures’ that seem to reach out across the cosmos, like the hand of some metaphorical God, to synchronize the movements of galaxies that are separated by vast distances.” It has taken human beings a long time to discover what the far-more-than-metaphorical-God revealed to us in His word. 2000 years ago, the apostle Paul wrote this in Colossians 1:17: “He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.” The Creator of the universe did not simply bring everything into being and then abandon us. He is continually at work holding His creation together. This is true in the big picture of the infinity of the universe, and in the micro world of your life. No matter what you face, when you put your faith in God by trusting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, you have the assurance that God has your life under control.

These have been words from the heart.
