Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV
Encourage One Another
To ensure that Canadians can exercise their democratic right to vote, Elections Canada conducts a Voter Information Campaign to provide Canadians with all the information they need on when, where and ways to register and vote in a federal election. For the first time in 2019, Elections Canada launched its voter information campaign prior to the election call to increase awareness of the federal election, position itself as the official source of information on the electoral process, and encourage eligible Canadians to register to vote and work in the federal election.

Discouragement is common in our world. People are dealing with disappointments of all kinds – we let ourselves or others down, or things don’t go our way. Things are rough at work or family members and friends aren’t there when we need them to be. In times like that there is nothing as important as having someone come alongside and encourage us with their words or actions. The Lord Jesus understands what it is like to be disappointed. He experienced that often in His life on earth. So, it isn’t surprising that the Bible calls us to be encouragers. In 1 Thessalonians 5:11 the apostle Paul writes this: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” I love what Paul does here – first he calls them to encourage one another, then he encourages them by praising them for being encouragers. He tells them to keep on doing what they are already doing. If you are an encourager – well done. Keep on coming alongside those who are discouraged. We all need to be encouraged – and we all need to encourage others. Encourage someone today.
These have been words from the heart.
