Words from the Heart for Tuesday October 13th, 2020

These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 14:25-26 (NKJV)

Teaching and Remembering

The Territory of Nunavut is in need of teachers. According to the website teachinnunavut.ca, students need dedicated, passionate and bold teachers. Nunavut has one of Canada’s youngest and fastest growing populations. The Government of Nunavut is looking for educators for full-time, indeterminate and term positions in its schools. Regional School Operations oversee schools in Nunavut’s three geographic regions and the Commission scholaire francophone du Nunavut is responsible for the provision of public education in the French language. There are more than 9,000 students in Nunavut’s 44 public schools.

One of the greatest gifts of being a follower of Jesus is the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit within the life of the believer. He comes to take up residence in all who have trusted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. In John 14:25-26 Jesus makes this promise: “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” For these disciples, specifically, the Holy Spirit would not only help them understand all that Jesus was teaching them, but later He would help them remember all that Jesus had spoken. This is the reason we have the Gospels today. For us, we have the assurance that as we read the Bible, the Holy Spirit will help us understand what Jesus taught. He will also bring to our mind the truth from God’s Word that we need in every circumstance. Our role is to read God’s Word regularly. We can then trust Him to apply it to our hearts and minds.

These have been words from the heart.
