Divine Power

Electricity is the flow of electrons from a negatively charged body to a positively charged body. It is a secondary energy source with a large number of applications that include heating, lighting, and powering electric motors. 67% of Canada’s electricity comes from renewable sources and 82% from non-greenhouse gas emitting sources. Canada is the world’s third largest producer of hydroelectricity and it exports about 8% of the electricity it generates to the United States. There are 34 active major international transmission lines connecting Canada to the U.S.

As our world moves towards electric automobiles, we are going to need to produce more and more electric power. Just about everything in our lives is dependent upon a secure and safe electrical supply. In the spiritual realm, we who belong to Jesus Christ by faith are in even greater need of the power that He alone can provide. The apostle Peter writes this in 2 Peter 1:3: “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” Peter had known what is was like to try to follow Jesus in his own strength and power – the Gospels record that he was often saying or doing the wrong thing, brought to its worst when he denied the Lord Jesus three times during the evening when Jesus was betrayed. Peter also experienced the power of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and knew the difference He made to Peter’s life and ministry. The divine power of the Holy Spirit assures us that we have everything we need to live a life that honours Jesus. Invite Him to give you that power.
