Words from the Heart for Tuesday May 21st, 2019

These are just the beginning of all that he does merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?

Job 26:14 (NLT)

A Whisper of His Power

One Canadian university is using cyber security research to train students for a future in which online security will become more and more useful and important. On their website, the Whisper Lab at Ontario’s Western University says this: “We see a future where people can cast a ballot online and be given a compelling reason to believe their vote was counted. We see a future where vast amounts of patient data can be leveraged to unlock secrets of longevity and well-being, while respecting privacy laws and protecting individuals. Our mission is to help create that future.”

We so often demean God. We do it either by failing to trust Him when the difficult times come, or by using His name in a way that belittles Him. It is too easy to forget the power and majesty of Almighty God. It was knowing this that helped Job get through the many challenges and heartbreaks that were his. As you read through the book of Job, it’s hard to believe that Job got through everything with his sanity intact. In fact, he did far better than that. When God began to show up, Job says this in Job 26:14: “These are just the beginning of all that he does merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?” We all have experienced God’s touch on our lives. We have seen Him perform miracles in our lives. He has met our needs when we had nowhere else to turn. Job says that the best He has done for us is just a whisper of His power. What is your greatest need? God will meet that need with just a whisper of His power.

These have been words from the heart.
