Words from the Heart for Tuesday March 31st, 2020
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 10:10 (NLT)
Believe It and Speak It
Canada’s two official languages are English and French. English and French have an equal status in federal courts, Parliament, and in all federal institutions. English is the mother tongue of 59.7% of the Canadian population, while French is the mother tongue of 23.2%. More than 85% of French-speaking Canadians live in Quebec. Over six million people in Canada list a non-official language as their mother tongue. Some of the most common non-official first languages include Chinese, Spanish, Italian and German.
Aren’t you glad that someone in your life, perhaps even many people, didn’t believe that their Christian faith was something to keep to themselves? If the first disciples hadn’t been faithful to the call of Jesus to take the Good News to the world, the Christian faith would have died out in one generation. Instead, the Global Church continues to grow and flourish because those who have experienced the power of Jesus to transform their lives just can’t keep it to themselves. Neither will you. The apostle Paul says this in Romans 10:10: “For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” The Bible is clear that those who have trusted Christ will speak of their new faith. It is the way that we have the assurance that we are truly saved – we want to tell everybody we know what Jesus has done for us. It is natural for human beings to share exciting things happening in our lives. And there is nothing more exciting, more joyful, than having our sins forgiven. If that is your experience – go tell someone today. Openly declare your faith in Jesus.
