For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16-17 (NIV)

According to a 2019 Cardus Angus Reid poll, “The largest segment of Canadian society (at 37%), quite independent of whether they have any religious views or not, sees an important role for religious and faith groups across many dimensions of Canadian society. They strongly support religious freedom. They see religious and faith groups playing an important role in health, in social services, social justice issues. They believe that faith and religion are critical for the formation of citizenship and strong values.”

At the heart of the Christian faith is the love of God for the world. From the moment sin entered into the world, God began to pursue men and women, doing all that was necessary to draw them back to Himself. All of this is wrapped up in one of the best loved Bible verses. John 3:16-17 tells us “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” God would have had every right to judge the world – there is in every human being a sense of justice, and the Bible often records the longing for justice in our world. And there will come a day when we will see God in His role as judge. But God is love, and first and foremost He loves you. Through faith in Jesus Christ and what He did by taking the punishment you deserve for your sin upon Himself on the Cross, you can experience the fullness of His love for you. Believe this and live, eternally. I’m Bob Beasley and these have been words from the heart.
