But the Lord looks with favor on those who respect him. He watches over those who put their hope in his faithful love.
Psalm 33:18 (NIRV)
Looking With Favour
A poll released last December finds that Canadians favour embracing the cold when considering a winter vacation. During the cold winter months, it seems only natural to want to escape the snow for warmer climates. However, trends suggest more travellers are embracing the chill and turning to cold-weather vacations. According to a recent InterContinental Hotels Group survey, majority of Canadians – 60% – consider Canada a go-to travel destination in the winter. This is especially true for millennials, of which 34% prefer to embrace the cold and travel within Canada during the winter months.
We live in a day when many in our part of the world are declaring themselves atheists. They live as though there is no God. At least they are being honest. There are many who say they believe in God who also live like there is no God. And they wonder why God seems so far away from them and why their lives have become so challenging. King David understood the secret of living within the blessings of God. Psalm 33:18 says, “But the Lord looks with favor on those who respect him. He watches over those who put their hope in his faithful love.” God loves everyone. There is no one outside of His love. But His justice prevents Him from simply ignoring the sins of those who refuse to bow before Him in repentance. Those who do, and who place their faith in Jesus Christ are assured of God’s favour. If you want to walk in the blessing of God, put your hope in His unfailing love. And, as David, did, you will experience God’s best for your life and God’s constant presence.
