Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

The Site C Dam is an under-construction hydroelectric dam on the Peace River, 14 kilometres southwest of Fort St. John in northeastern British Columbia. It is located approximately 80 kilometres downstream from the W. A. C. Bennett Dam. When completed in 2025, the Site C Dam will become the 4th largest producer of hydroelectricity in British Columbia. Site C will be the third of four major dams on the Peace River that were initially proposed in the mid-twentieth century.

It only takes a short blackout here in Canada to realize just how tied we are to electricity. If the blackout lasts more than a few hours, it can become life threatening, depending on the season. These kinds of experiences actually teach us about the need not only for the power to keep our lights on and our homes comfortable and safe, they teach us something about the need to keep connected to the only true and consistent source of spiritual power. Paul the apostle writes this to the followers of Jesus in Ephesians 6:10: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Through faith and trust in Him, followers of Jesus have a connection to the God who brought everything into being simply by speaking it. No wonder Paul calls this “mighty power.” The word in Greek for power is dunamis, from which we get the word dynamite. God’s power is explosive! There are no blackouts in God’s power. The storms of life don’t knock out His power, He rules over them and in His time, He stills them. If you are feeling spiritually weak, if you are feeling disconnected from God, if your spiritual life is powerless, get reconnected with Jesus.
These have been words from the heart.
