Words from the Heart for Tuesday June 18th, 2019
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:25-26 (NIV)
God is the Strength of My Heart
Canada is a powerful nation in many ways. One website asks, “How well is Canada positioned to create better jobs, more wealth and an improved standard of living in a changing world?” The answer is that Canada has many strengths. Our primary advantages lie in location, natural resources, a diverse economy, high-quality public education, and institutional and political stability. Canada’s proximity to, and unique relationship with, the US are definite advantages in accessing the large US market and our deep water ports open the world to us.
We all know people who enjoy poor health. They love to talk ad nauseam about their latest health issue. The reality is that if we were aware of all the diseases from which we could suffer, we would all be hypochondriacs. It is actually amazing that we are as healthy as we are. Every one of is eventually going to prove how susceptible we are to poor health. The Psalmist understood this and wrote, in Psalm 73:25-26: “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” The flesh and the heart may fail, the Psalmist says. You can be guaranteed that they will. If this is true, so is the next statement: but God is the strength of my heart. We may fail but He will never. Don’t wait until you reach the point where your body lets you down before you turn your life over to Him. Allow Him to be your strength, your everything, while you are here on earth, through faith in Jesus Christ.
These have been words from the heart.
