Words from the Heart for Tuesday June 12th, 2018

The words I speak are like that. They will not return to me without producing results. They will accomplish what I want them to. They will do exactly what I sent them to do.

Isaiah 55:11 (NIRV)

Producing Results

From nature comes this picture of the Lord’s provision and desire for us to be sustained by His word. He wants us to prosper. Like the moisture from above, His word has power to produce results. Welcome His word into your life. You can confidently share His word with someone today. In time, it will produce results.

The Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development, or OECD, published a report in 2017 on life in Canada. Canada typically performs above the OECD average level across most of the different well-indicators. It falls within the top tier of OECD countries on household net wealth, the employment rate is high, at 73%, the long-term unemployment rate is low, at 0.8%, and fewer than 4% of employees usually work 50 hours or more per week, less than a third of the OECD average rate.

Not every plan that men and women devise is successful. Businesses fail, vacations go awry, buildings collapse. But what God does is always successful. For example, when He spoke the world into creation, He stopped at the end of every day and declared that it was good. It shouldn’t surprise us that God says this in Isaiah 55:11, “The words I speak are like that. They will not return to me without producing results. They will accomplish what I want them to. They will do exactly what I sent them to do.” God’s word has power. If He was able to speak the entire universe into being, we can trust His word to have power in our own lives. That is why the Enemy doesn’t want people to read the Bible, and He tries to put doubt into the heart of people about its trustworthiness. But God knows that His word is powerful and accomplishes exactly what He intends them to do. As you read God’s word today, claim the promises that He reveals to you in your own life. Trust them, and Him, to accomplish what He desires in your life.

These have been words from the heart.
