While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

I Have Peace

In 1927, the Peace Tower clock was given to Canada by the United Kingdom. The gift marked the 60th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. The original clock no longer works and has since been replaced. There are 4 clock faces in total: 1 on each side of the Tower. The hour and minute hands of each face are run by an electric motor. Its controls are located 10 stories down the Tower on the master clock. The precise timing of the clock is kept by the National Research Council’s atomic clock in Ottawa.

Peace is far too rare in our world these days. There are so many conflicts taking place right now that geopolitical experts tell us we are experiencing the greatest migration in the history of the world. If the longing for peace among peoples is greater than ever, so is the longing for inner peace. People are searching in so many different places for that elusive experience. The Bible teaches that inner peace is found only in one place. Here is what Luke 24:36 says: “While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’” True inner peace is only found through the presence of Jesus Christ. The sin that marks every human life has separated us from our Creator and stolen our peace. Only through Jesus sacrificial death on the cross can our sin be removed and our peace restored. If you are longing for inner peace, Jesus invites you to turn from your sin and put your faith and trust in Him. He loves you deeply, and longs for you to experience peace. He offers it to you right now.

These have been words from the heart.
