Words from the Heart for Tuesday July 31st, 2018

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)

Infinitely More

The power of God at work within us is mighty. He works in ways that reflect His greatness. He works beyond our limited understanding. Ask largely of the Lord. He is abundantly able to do more than we can ever ask or think. He will work supernaturally to accomplish that display of abundance. Begin by giving Him praise.

According to an Ipsos poll released a year ago, the world expects Canada to have the best influence on world affairs over the next few years. The poll, which spanned 25 countries, put Canada at the top of a list of countries and organizations that respondents view as having a positive influence on world affairs. Canada’s “positive influence score” remained the same as the previous year, while all the other countries and organizations took a hit, according to the release. Apparently, the world needs more Canada.

Those of us who by faith are followers of Jesus Christ have a desire to accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God. We dream big dreams, God sized dreams. Jesus has commanded us to go to take the Gospel to the whole world. When Jesus is Lord of our lives, our desire is to be at the centre of his will and to use the gifts he has given us for his glory. As big as the dreams we have for serving the Lord, God tells us in His word that what he has planned for us is much greater. Ephesians 3:20 says “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” This is quite the promise. With God’s power unleashed in our lives, we are going to accomplish more than we can even begin to imagine. When we try to serve the Lord in our strength, we will accomplish little of eternal significance. Allow the Holy Spirit who resides in you to empower you and watch God work in unimaginable ways.
