Words from the Heart for Tuesday July 27th, 2021

“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Jeremiah 1:6-8 (NLT)

Throughout the Philippines, children have been coming to faith in Jesus through Bible-based values education in the public schools. Some of these children live in remote villages where there are no local churches. So, they have started their own churches. Imagine, children starting churches, planning worship services, studying the Bible together. This may not be normal here in Canada, but the Bible actually speaks to this. In Jeremiah 1:6-8 we read: ““O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” God doesn’t have a minimum age requirement. He looks to any and all who are totally committed to His will for their lives, and He uses us for His glory and the extension of His kingdom. No matter how old or young you are, commit your life to Jesus and He will use you to bring His love and message to others.

These have been words from the heart.
