Words from the Heart for Tuesday July 21st, 2020

So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 (NLT)

Giving the Power

Canada is the third largest producer of hydroelectricity in the world, behind only China and Brazil. Its infrastructure is spread from coast to coast and accounts for about 60% of all electricity generated in Canada. Even through hydroelectricity has existed in Canada for over a century, unlike many other countries that generate hydroelectricity, Canada is not even close to its full hydroelectric potential. Canada currently has an installed capacity of 78,000 megawatts, but has the ability to easily double that.

It is humanly impossible to the live the Christian life. As we study God’s Word and grow in our faith, our desire to live a life that honours the Lord and impacts the world for His Kingdom increases. So much so that we simply can’t do all we want to do in our own strength. God calls us to things that will stretch our faith and our stamina. But God never gives an unfunded mandate. Those He calls, He equips. This is what Paul discovered and speaks about in 2 Thessalonians 1:11: “So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.” I love Paul’s prayers here – that God will give us the power to accomplish all the good things our faith prompts us to do. When God calls us, He provides all we need to be successful. As you go out in faith today, committed to accomplishing all that the Lord has called you to, may you tap into the never ending source of strength and power God has ready for you.
