The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie…
2 Thessalonians 2:9 NIV
Displays of Power
Canada’s sharpening focus on Arctic sovereignty and the push to build hyperscale datacentres across western provinces could significantly speed up development of the country’s vast, untapped geothermal energy resources, according to a new report. Geothermal’s economics are improving rapidly as technological advances in the industry reduce costs. This is raising geothermal’s profile as a reliable, round-the-clock power source for a range of applications — from northern military bases and mines to the hundreds of data centres expected in coming decades.

Here in the Global West, we seldom take time to consider the spiritual realm that the Bible teaches is operating all around us. As I have traveled to other parts of the world, it is common for God’s people to experience miracles of healing, deliverance, provision, and transformation. At Bible League Canada, we regularly receive testimonies from our partners around the world. Many have come to Jesus out of spiritual bondage, and they are aware how false the darkness is, even when accompanied by counterfeit miracles. It is in light of this battle between darkness and light that Paul writes this in 2 Thessalonians 2:9: “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie…” What Paul is warning them and us is that while the enemy can imitate power, he cannot produce truth. He can impress the senses, but he cannot transform the soul. So, we are called to be discerning believers, testing every spirit and holding fast to what is true. Stay anchored in Christ.
These have been words from the heart.
