Words from the Heart for Tuesday August 20th, 2019
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
Jeremiah 7:23 (KJV)
In All the Ways
According to the InternationalStudent.com website, Canada is an immensely large country that is extremely varied in its people, landscape, and climate. Because of this, the Canadian way of life will vary from one individual to the next. Canadians do share important values such as pride, a belief in equality and diversity, and respect for all individuals. These values make Canada known as a friendly, peace-loving, and secure place in which to live.
I don’t know anyone, particularly a genuine follower of Jesus, who gets out of bed in the morning thinking, “today I’m going to live a life of disobedience, so that my heart will be filled with grief, regret and sorrow.” And God certainly doesn’t want this for you! The very reason that Jesus came was to set us free from the sin that separates from our Creator, and lift the guilt and shame that paralyzes us and steals our joy. God says this to the prophet in Jeremiah 7:23: “But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.” God longs for us to enjoy the full life that He created human beings to have in relationship with Him. So He calls us into a place of intimacy, where we walk together with Him, following Him as He leads us on the highway of holiness. We trust Him to lead us, in both the easy times and the challenging, knowing that He is with us, and He is molding us into the man or woman He desires us to be.
These have been words from the heart.
