By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.
1 Corinthians 6:14 NIV
Also Raise Us Up
Launched in 2018, Raising Canada is an annual series of reports that track the top 10 threats to childhood. The report sheds light on the reality that one-third of kids in Canada do not enjoy a safe and healthy childhood. For more than a decade, the state of childhood in Canada has been on the decline. Canada ranks 30th out of 38 affluent nations for protecting the well-being of children, according to UNICEF – a significant drop from 12th place in 2007.
We have just celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Once captive to the grave, now unleashed into the world by the power of the Holy Spirit. The resurrection of Jesus has both a global impact – death has died – and a personal impact – because Jesus rose from the dead, so shall all who die in Him, having put their faith and trust in Him in this life. The apostle Paul says this in 1 Corinthians 6:14: “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.” Death was Satan’s greatest victory. It wasn’t long after Adam and Eve sinned that an animal had to die in order for them to hide their nakedness. I often wonder what they thought when they saw that animal’s carcass lying on the ground, lifeless. So when Jesus died, Satan thought he had won – and he would have done all he could to keep Jesus in that tomb. God’s power was so much stronger than death – and that same unlimited power is available over death for you and me as well. Put your faith in Jesus, and resurrection power will be yours as well.
These have been words from the heart.
