We all have troubles in our lives. It is rare to have nothing over which we are concerned. Families and churches have been torn apart by differences of opinion about the pandemic protocols, disease and sickness are on the increase, economic challenges are facing us all as prices and interest rates increase. At times like this, more than ever, those of us who have confidence in the Lord Jesus are called to speak of the hope that we have in Him. King David did in his day. In Psalm 34:17 we read, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” On the surface this seems like a wonderful promise, and it is. But it is more than that – it is the experience of everyone who genuinely trusts the Lord Jesus. Over and over in our lives, when we are faced with challenges and trouble, the Lord has manifested His loving presence, filling our hearts with peace and our souls with hope. If you are facing trouble today, cry out to the Lord Jesus in faith and you, too, will experience His deliverance.
These have been words from the heart.
