God Will Restore You
This past May, Canada and Saudi Arabia agreed to name new ambassadors nearly five years after a diplomatic conflict halted relations and strained trade between the two countries. Over the past few days we have been speaking about God’s plans for our lives. Our existence is not a matter of chance and we are born with a purpose. Even before we arrive in this world, God has a plan for our lives and when we discover that plan and follow it, we find great peace, satisfaction and joy. King David understood this and writes about God working out His plan for David in Psalm 23:3: “…he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” It wasn’t that David lived a life of ease and consistent godliness. He often faced enemies, from King Saul to his own son Absalom, who wanted him dead. He committed sin with Bathsheba and then ensured that her husband would be killed, breaking at least two of God’s commandments. Even through all the challenges he faced because of his waywardness and the schemes of others, David saw God working out His plan. David had experienced the soul refreshment that only the Lord provides, and the guidance that God gives to those whose desire is to be led. Each one of us must have this same desire.
These have been words from the heart.
