Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

A member of our family is a high school guidance counselor. She helps students in her high school choose the courses that will set them up for success in their short-term and long-term studies and in their preferred career. In order to be a help, she has to know both the students – their personality, natural gifts and what they find most fulfilling – and what they should study to prepare them for the rest of their lives. The Bible tells us that in a much greater way, God is the One we need to look to for this life and eternity. Psalm 119:105 says “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” It makes sense that our Creator, who knows us better than we know ourselves, will give us the best advice for living with success in this world, and in preparing for eternity. There is no one who knows you more than the Lord God who molded you into the person you are today. Even before you were born, He had a plan for your life. As you read His word, He will help you see yourself as He sees you, and you will discover the path that He has for you to follow.
These have been words from the heart.
